Radio is where it's at!

Angle Bush with Your 15 Minutes Radio had such a HUGE response from Inventors that wanted to be on our show that she rescheduled it for Aug. 5th so we could fit more in!

When we take risks and go after our dreams, it can be quite surprising where that can lead us.

I never would have thought that I'd end up in radio but here I am...reviewing Inventors and their products so I can come up with some clever questions. Not only that, I am able to do what I love - support Inventors! It's just on the radio and not TV like I had thought. For now, at least.

I hope all of you are still pursuing your dreams - even if it can be super frustrating. You never know where it will lead you...

  3. Isn't God great! He really does work for the good of those who love him. You Tracy are a testament to that. Super anxious for you so glad to hear of the best reason ever to postpone. Over crowding. Gives you more time to mentally prepare too. My prayers are with you.

  4. What a nice way to wake up on a Saturday and see all of these awesome posts! Thank you for your excitement (I CAN'T wait), support and prayers! How cool IF there was a TV show down the road...

I'm going to see if I can get the Pitchmen Crew on and I've already got a "I'm available" from the Doc. of Shopology, John Cremeans! John was a show host for 20+ years at HSN so he would know better than anyone when it comes to "sellable" products.

I have some homework to do which is nice - it keeps me busy!

  5. Tracy, so many TV personalities have transitioned from doing radio first. The main thing is that you've got a good thing going. This is Serendipity! It is a win-win for you...and for the inventors that need you! You are a wonderful "voice" for these people! I am SO happy with this latest post! Ginny

  7. Mary,
I see EN has a search open for Westpoint home for textile org. I have a ruff idea, cardboard prototype, pics. What do u think? I see on the EN sight most of the successes are from the TV show not necessarily the live searches. And reading the discussion boards there a lot of unhappy folks with how the searches keep dragging on 6 months later and nothing decided. What do u think?

  8. D,
EN is fairly new in that it came out of the fact that they had so many people come to the open casting calls for Everyday Edisons (EE) The TV Show. That they figured they would start EN it is roughly 2 years old. So yes things are further with EE meaning they've had some successes that have already made it to market. EN has a lot of there first round searches that are right on the cusp of getting things out there. Reason being EN is actually about 4 almost 5 years old and the products that are made for the show are put through at a quicker pace than most retailers move cuz it's for the show so they're on a deadline. The real retail world is not working on a deadline. I think a couple of things are coming into play here with the searches that are dragging to the 6 month point. I think the economy unfortunately is the biggest factor in this. I also think that we are finding that 6 months in some cases isn't long enough for them to cover all the pros and cons before they decide. As frustrating as that is I personally wouldn't want to push them into a no. But basically everyone has to decide for themselves how long they want to wait and stay exclusive with one sponsor. I like some of the points that were brought up today in the forum about the sponsor maybe paying to keep an idea exclusive. I personally think it is worth using EN to get products to the retailer. I th8ink a cardboard prototype and pics is an awesome way to help illustrate your idea to the sponsor. My product that has been G7 for about 1 1/2 months I had a card board prototype and we made a video. They have asked for my prototype which I sent about 2 weeks ago. I haven't heard anything since the request for my prototype. Good luck with what ever you decide.

  15. Hi,
Anyone pitched to Sullivan Productions? I am thinking of doing it. They request a prototype, pics, prefer video, fill out their form and mail it to them in FL. I just hate to send a ruff proto, thinking only I know how to handle it and present it-hope it doesnt fall apart or break as they use it! If you want to see it, I am posting a comment on AJ Khubani's (Telebrands) facebook page and you can click and see pics and read notes for info for my EZ Reach Tray. I appreciate any feedback, even criticism. I aint gonna get better w/ a bunch of "aw thats nice".

  18. David,
I tried to go to AJ's page but it's not open to the public. You must do a friend request. So I could view your easy reach tray. Sorry I was looking forward to seeing it.

  20. David, I have pitched my product to Sullivan a couple of times for their show Pitchmen. I sent them a video and not my prototype (I only have one) and they said that was fine. I live locally so I was ready to go to Sullivan Productions if they wanted to see my product in person. Sadly, they didn't :) Good luck!

    Anonymous,
I did a quick search and could not find an air date for HM. Jen C. posted their trailer on her blog www.welladjustedorsotheysay.blogspot.com if you want to see it. I vaguely recall hearing late August but I can't confirm that.

  21. For those of you who auditioned for Pitchmen Season Two or simply just love it, the air date has been set! Aug. 19th at 9pm!
I am hoping they'll show the co-host auditions as well and maybe I'll be on! :)

  22. Thanks. I think I really need to get a video. I've been placing ads on Craigslist to get a video made but so far no one has clicked w/me. Since I have several ideas I/m thinking of simple videos of each product and then a short demo reel of all of them at once, so someone like Sully can go "No, No, Maybe, yes, no no," etc in one shot.
