Idea = Reality

WI Food Drive: 10 bags

When an idea starts forming, it begins slowly with maybe just an afterthought but then...you ponder it some more... and then you verbalize it...that's when your idea is on it's way to becoming a reality.

That's when the hard part comes in. How do I do it...where should I start...when will "it" be worth it...

For many of us, our dreams are held in the hands of strangers...waiting and hoping that these "strangers" see your vision and feel your passion...and waiting...

There are others that take the bull by the horns and go full force on their own...

I am not sure which one is harder...but both take guts and a tough skin because it's not always hearts and flowers...there is frustration, hard work...determination...

But the bottom line is this...if you don't try, no matter how you go about it, you'll never know if that little idea that started off as an afterthought can become your dream come true.

  3. Hey did any of you ladies watch Regis and Kelly today? If so then you heard Kelly say that last night she was filming for the show! They way she talked was that she has been filming the ladies and gotten to know each of them. I'm a little confused??? I though they said we would not know anything for four to six more weeks. Does anyone out there have any insight on this?

  4. OMG! My friend asked me about this, too (she saw the Regis show today). Can it be that we are so isolated here on Tracy's site that "other" contenders have moved further along in the process and we just didn't even know about it? I don't understand, but maybe an email to Milojo is in order? This seems strange. The only thing I can figure out is that Kelly was at the NYC casting call meeting the ladies there. I WISH I could see an excerpt from today's R&K show.

  5. Okay...I just watched the dialogue portion of today's Live w/Regis & Kelly show on the network's site. It shows the whole 18+ minute segment and Kelly discusses the show towards the end. What she said is the she and Mark began filming last night; however, when pressed by Regis to learn more about the show, Kelly is very flattering in her description of the women who will be oompeting, roughly describing general back stories about their lives (which seems integral to the show) AS WELL AS the actual products. She doesn't actually say that she has MET them, but I gather she has become familiar with their stories and inventions through the applications. One interesting thing though - she said that each week there would be a winner who will then sell their product on HSN. So, unlike what I had thought (that there would be one solitary winner only), she said "weekly" winner. If anyone else watches this and gets a different take on this, please let me know!

  6. Here is the show web address http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/regisandkelly/index.html
Go on the discussion part of today's show. It is towards the end starting around the 13 minute part. Take a look at it and let us all know what your take is.

  10. Maybe the show has moved on and they are not planning to contact those in waiting. Just like those who never received contracts are still waiting for some closure. A nice note of "thank you for your time, but we could not pick you at the moment", would probably have been helpful to many people (and also considerate).

  11. I was told by a AP that they would have some type of communication to all of us who signed a contract.

  12. I just re-read the email sent to me by Milojo on October 30th, and I find it very hard to believe that they would leave any of us hanging. Among other updates, it clearly states, "We will be in touch within the next 4-6 weeks. Thank you for your patience." Regardless of their level of interest (whether we are chosen or eliminated), I want to believe that they will be doing the right thing and notifying each of us. As for Kelly Ripa's comments, earlier communications to us have made clear that the videos we made, along with the contents of our applications, were being closely reviewed by Milojo (and that would definitely include Kelly who is very "hands on" for this show) and also, Discovery and HSN. I think Kelly was providing her assessements of the candidates for the show - not that she has yet actually met them, but more from what she gleaned from the applications she reviewed. And it is logical that she and Mark could begin filming now as they will be central to each show and there is every reason to believe that their segments, maybe even spots for the show, can start being taped. Keep the faith, ladies.

  13. I agree with Anonymous (8:43)!!!! SHe was speaking in generalities about the show. Remember that we filled out three pages of questions all about ourselves and out lives so she does know "our stories". I heard that it takes 4-5 hours of taping to get a few minutes of usable footage, so just imagine everything that has to be done!!!! There is all of the footage to go through and work in from everyday of the casting call, then all of KElly's idea's for the show etc.... Plus, we all got the same email. I was told that they are going to pick semifinalists to come back and pitch their invention to the execs in the next 4-6 weeks so it is logical that KElly is speaking in generalities about the ladies lives and what the show will be about. You know the few comments that she made about the ladies were, that one of the ladies husbands was deployed to Irag and money was tight or that they jsut graduated and didn't have money to produce the idea. All of this is easily found on the paperwork and not that she had met them.
    No worries ladies!!!!!

  14. One thing I can say is live life today like there is no tomorrow!!! I just lost one of my really good friends yesterday. She just turned 37 a few days ago. She was a RN very healthy just went to sleep and never woke up.

We are only on this earth for such a short time!!Please do all you can to love your family friends and help the world! #3

  15. Ladies we have no worries! Just spoke to AP about comments on Live, they are currently filming the first two episodes and they have not made all the final cuts! We are still in the running and they will be in touch shortly. Have a great weekend! #8

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thank you #8 for the update. Did The AP call you about this information or did you call them? Thanks for your help.

    ReplyDelete
  17. So, Anonymous #8, what you have learned would mean that they have indeed selected at least 4 women (2 episodes shot/2 women each show), correct? If I understand that correctly, then they are further along than I had imagined. And I believe we were told at the casting call that the first season will be 16 women, so there are 12 more women to be chosen? I had hoped that we would have all been advised of our status prior to any filming. That would have been a more diplomatic way to go.

  18. This is very confusing to me and I'm not even in the running!:)
I was going to post tomorrow morning but given the dialog here, I leave this post as the last so everyone can meet on one posting to keep informed!
    Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

P.S. Last Anonymous, you are very sharp to pick up on all of these things! :)

  19. I'm with you Anonymous! I spoke to a AP about a week ago and he told me there had been no call backs done yet. I guess he was not being truthful to me. I wish they would just tell the truth it would make it so much better for all of us!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thank you, Tracy (for the nice comment). But, really, we ALL should be feeling a bit confused. Here we are awaiting "call backs" and the AP has told Anonymous #8 that they've already shot two episodes?! I don't know about any of the other contenders, but I've suspended lots of my life since July in deference to being "on call" for the show and making myself available to them. I've not used my vacation/personal days - which now will come to an end in December - in order to "save" them for show-related scheduling. Somehow I'm feeling a bit taken advantage of right now if the show has progressed this far. Maybe I'm over-reacting, but something seems less than honest.

  21. HI Ladies,
I think we have to expand our thinking! I don't think anyone is lying to anyone. They could have easily shot two episodes with all of the casting call footage, pulling out individual audtions, meeting with TLC and HSN to get the semifinalists that got contracts, and discusing them on tape. That's easy two episodes. This will draw the audience in and makes chronological sense. Just like American Idol, So you think you can dance etc...Look how many episodes are just the casting. I'm sure they will be alot more waiting in store so try to remain in good spirits, it is still a chance of a lifetime for us.

  24. I think Deedra participated in one of the episodes. If so, congrats. I can not wait to see her headbands.

  25. I had a dream last night that I was a part of "some show" and made the finial 5 but woke up before I knew if I made it or not!

The anxiety I felt in my dream was only a fraction of what I am sure you ladies are feeling but hopefully not much longer! What date will it be at the 6 week mark?

*To Anonymous who is not using her vacation days: Go! Book it now! Don't let the va-ca days run out at the end of the year! Life is too short! Have fun! Just my two cents. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Of course!! That's why our Deedra has been keeping a low profile and avoiding our questions. Yea, Deedra!!!!!! (Very astute of Anonymous at 2:27am (!!) I'll be buying those babies, Deedra! #16

  27. I have been thinking the same thing for sometime. She said that she got a manufacture to start making her head bands in LA. She ask everyone to go to her website for sales info. I could see how this would be part of the show and journey she is on. Good luck Deedra I wish you well!!! #3

  28. Of course, it all makes such sense. I only feel badly that I never got to her website to participate in her experiment. I've always fully-intended to buy her product. In fact, I had wanted to do so for my daughter's wedding headband. Now I understand why she never got back to me...she was probably unable to due to her involvement in the show! God Bless you Deedra! I am SO, SO happy for you if this is true!! Know that you have the support of all of us in this exciting venture! #16

  29. Ha Ha, I gladly accept the WI cheerleader/mascot position. There is plenty of room on the team so please join in if you so desire! Now I'm wondering if Deedra was filmed as well, I so wish she could tell us! Hey Deedra are you able to speak up one way or the other, I know it must be so hard if you can't. You must just be bursting inside. Well, for your sake I hope it is true, it surely would be an amazing experience if so. Good luck everyone in everything.

  30. To Anonymous #3: I'm so sorry I never addressed the subject of the loss of your friend. How awful to lose someone so young and so suddenly. Please accept my condolences. Did they discover what happened? That is truly frightening.

On a brighter note, I think not hearing from Deedra in light of all our speculation might indeed be our answer! Either that or Deedra is vacationing somewhere far, far away! (Deedra, you GO girl!!) #16

  31. Thank you so much #16! That was very kind of you. They have not found out why yet. It has been very hard! She has three kids too. Please keep her family in your prayers her husband is not doing well at all. Thank you again #16!!

  38. Like you ladies know, getting a product off the ground is a process but I am in talks with HSN for the EM...the go2girlz are looking forward to hearing something from Pitchmen but it will not be until the end of this year or the beginning of 2010. Thanks for asking! :)

  40. Hey Tracy,
By the way, did you get any feedback on the auditions in LV?
Were they looked at yet by the powers that be?
When are the participants to be picked?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm not going to hear until the end of the year for Pitchmen...(finger nails drumming on the table)...
I am not sure when the inventors that pitched products will be contacted but if you are one of them, let us know what you hear!
