  2. Glad you now know Deedra, wouldn't want you to miss it! :) I wonder if they will show the audition part of the process?

  3. Checked out the web for Discovery / TLC, Homemade Millionaire, & they have a slide show. It looks like several inventors are pictured along with a few celebrities! This is very cool!

  4. I called and found out that the episode that I will be on will air December 17th. I hope you all can watch and will be watching episodes before! It should be very interesting!!!!

  5. HAH! I just found that slide show that Anonymous talked about above. There are 9 pics and one is with me. I SERIOUSLY don't think you could find a worse picture. Me with my eyes closed, blurry, and a horrible growl on the other gals face...and she's a beautiful person. HAH!

  7. This is SO exciting!

  8. Hey, is anyone else going to appear on the show? I have checked with Milojo and the producers and they both say that it's ok to say you are on the show, but not details. Just wanting to know who is on the blog that we can root for!!!!! :)

  9. Deedra, I'm so proud of you! I wasn't chosen for season 1 but am in hopes of still making the show in the future. I followed you since the beginning along will all of these other fine women blogger-inventors. I want to wish you the very best. It is such a long hard road for all of us to get our products to the public. You go girl! I'll be watching with my fingers crossed for you!
P.S. Not to worry, you look just lovely standing there with your headband on.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Keep plugging away, never give up.
Always, always believe. If you are
able to, get the product out on your
    own. Large companies unfortunately,
no matter how wonderful they seem, are
not what they seem. The good thing about
the show is that it's a commercial you
never could have paid for... but it comes
with the price of a strong contract. Tricky
yes but as they say, nothing worthwhile comes
    easily.

  11. Deedra,
I see all over your web site ... See you soon on HSN. Is this a good sign of things to come???

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yes it is, work hard, stand out, and
    always believe in your dream.

  13. ...even if you can't sleep sometimes!

  14. Anonymous,

I will tell you that the website was ALL put up BEFORE the show was cast, so everything was prayerful thinking. No joke.

OK ladies, I've been patiently waiting....where is number 1 and 2 and 6 and 9 and 18???? There were other numbers.....I want to hear from you!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love you ladies!

  15. Hi Deedra,
I made it all the way until the end. They keep telling me I had a great chance (Christina). I understand that Kevin McKeever left them and It just seems like they forgot about me. I finally only heard in May that I didn't make it but I am on the short list also if it is picked up. My friend told me that my product looks to professional. She said they probably looked at it and said how can we help you it looks ready to go. In fact that's what they asked me. It is a patented product and not a product in it's infancy, so who knows.

I was #3 then gave it to someone and became #9.

I wish you the best of luck and many $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I don't know if I can bring myself to watch it, it is still such a sore spot the way I was treated and constantly left out in the cold. I probably burned my bridges I was so mad but that's a lesson I will probably have to learn.

Tracy where is the picture of the basket to bid on?

  16. I will put the pic of the Women Inventor Basket up shortly...my basket committee is putting it together - it's going to be awesome and I am so grateful for all of the donations!

I can understand how some of us feel shafted - I was a little bitter for awhile - but God has his plan for us and if this was not my path, so be it. It does sting though so I am not discounting that.

    Have a great weekend everyone!
    XO

  17. Lori,

Please watch...at least my episode. It wouldn't be the same without you.

PS I think you and your products are tops!!!

  18. I honestly cannot remember what number I was! But I'm Ginny...and I was one of the first on this site to receive a contract (NYC audition). I can't deny my disappointment - having been strung along for a very long time, but I must say I'm excited to see those who have made it and, also, how the show plays out. I am most excited to see Deedra's show and learn how the whole process develops into the eventual HSN opportunity. I am not sorry for having tried, that's for sure. They told me I'm still in the running if the show is picked up, but I'm certainly not believing it nor am I holding my breath! :0)

  19. I'll be watching Deedra, I wouldn't miss it!
It's going to be exciting to find which
inventions were chosen. Also, learning how the women came up with the ideas and how long has their journey been.

  20. Hi all I've been away a while.
Just moved out of the campground (well still in the process actually. So exciting we found a wonderful house to rent and it has a Mother-in-law apartment for my 20 year old daughter. Which I am so happy for her to have this after 10 months of sharing a room with her 7 year old brother. First when we lived with our friends in Kentucky for 3 months and then 7 months here in the camper. I have enjoyed my husbands folks visit this last two weeks. John's Mom has been an invaluable help with the painting pre-move and his Dad helped with general maintenance type stuff. Anyway for any of you who have moved recently you can appreciate how busy I have been lately.

I am anxious to see Homemade Millionaire. I have mixed feelings about it but still wouldn't miss it for the world. Gotta cheer my good friend Deedra on!! And I'm curious to see what made the cut for the opening of the show and all cuz we all signed wavers that any footage we sent was fair game and became their property, or footage they took if you went in person.

Hope all is well with all of you.

  21. Hey Ladies, On the TLC web site,
    http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/apply/getontlc.html
I just found, they have an area set up for casting. The links don't go anywhere but it is all set and ready to cast season 2!
    Good Luck All!

    ReplyDelete
  22. That's been set up for quite a long time, Anonymous above. At least several months. I just assumed it was left over from season one. It reads precisely the same and it leads to a dead link.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I asked one of the producers last week about the next season. She said that it would be decided after this season aired if it gets picked up for a second season.

OK, now...heard from Lori, Ginny, and Mary. We know Tracy and Me. I know there is one other that has been on the blog that I met at a call back...where are you... :) Miss ya lady! Any others.... We could all be on the show! All that audition footage! Maybe even your 30 pitch! You would be "as seen on Homemade Millionaire!!"

    Where is everyone?!?!

    Deedra :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I've been reading the blogs and am happy to say that I'm a part of the show as well. Unfortunately, I haven't met Deedra yet but maybe soon. Can't say much more but I'll check in when I can. Best wishes everyone and keep plugging away, it will pay off one day. :)

  25. I was thinking... it benefits all of us if we start publicizing this show as much as possible. I didn't make season one but if we can improve the ratings there might be a season two. Not to mention, the sales we might be throwing in the way of the season one girls. Lets e-mail everyone we know, face-book it, and sent it to all of our networking places. I think with just a few of us pushing we will all be homemade millionaires! Are there any other helpers out there?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I've been doing that already and appreciate the thought process... you are spot on! America, here comes Homemade Millionaire and the many women that have and will make it a special show.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I feel like a cheerleader. I keep shouting out about the show. This is so exciting!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Great to hear from all of you! I have been so busy with the fundraiser that I have not been on my blog as much as I'd like but I'm happy to see you all are still checking in.
Can't wait to see the show - I truly had my doubts about it going forward.
By the way, did any of you know that Pitchmen Season Two was canceled after just two airings? I guess Billy was the key ingredient there...personally I think they should have gone another direction altogether and changed it up so it didn't have the same feel/format and have had 2 or more girls - me being one of them :)working with Sully. Everything happens for a reason...that's my motto...oh yes, and God has a plan... :)
    See you all here soon!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi, girls! Sorry I have been absent for far too long - busy like a bee, but all good stuff!

Wanted to echo all of your sentiments regarding helping to promote the show in the hopes that there will be a second season and then...who knows! Maybe some of you will get picked for the next one!

I too had a little pang when I saw the promo, but overall I am looking forward to rooting them all on and really just seeing how this big mystery turns out!

Best of luck to everyone and I will do whatever I can to promote as well!

    Hi, Tracy!

Hope all is well with everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  30. DITTO! Let's gather the troops and tell everyone how much the thought of the show has inspired every single one of us! This is a positive thing and like Jen said, who knows????
    GO HOMEMADE MILLIONAIRE!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! This is the big month, I'm getting the word out for the show. If the TLC viewers like Homemade Millionaire, there will definitely be a 2nd season. I'd say that's something to be thankful for!

    ReplyDelete
  32. 16 days and counting... GOD I can't wait! It seems like a life time ago when I tried out. I can't wait to see how it all works out for everyone involved. Good luck all!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Has anyone seen commercials for Homemade Millionaire yet? The TLC schedule shows "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and "Policewomen of ..." premiering very soon. Homemade Millionaire is set to air after these two shows. Sarah and the policewomen's promos have been shown for 2-3 weeks now. That should mean that a Homemade Millionaire commercial may air THIS week!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Let us know when you see the promo - I'm very much looking forward to see the show and how they have formatted it!
I have an amazing website to pass along to you - it's called Fashion Playtes and it's genius! Girls can make their/design their own tees', tanks, dresses and more. I HIGHLY recommend checking it out - my daughter designed a dress and she wears it all the time! Also, Fashion Playtes donated a very generous GC to our fundraiser!

  36. Hi Ladies!
Whew...finally I can reveal myself. I am one of the inventors on HOMEMADE MILLIONAIRE--I was one of the last to be selected and had totally counted myself out, but thoroughly enjoyed follwoing along on this blog as you all talked about your journeys. My name is Marcy McKenna and I will actually be featured in the Premier episode on November 19th at 10pm. It's been an exciting and wonderful process with many ups and downs. The show will be amazing and will be so helpful and inspiring to all you fellow female inventors. Once my episode airs you will be able to learn about my journey and follow my progress on my website at www.simplysolvedinnovations.com. Win or Lose, the show has inspired me in unimaginable ways and as a result some very exciting things are happening and the future looks bright. Best of luck to you all! Thank you for letting me a part of this wonderful blog! Don't forget to tune in!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ooops...I meant to add that you can learn a bit about me and my company on facebook at Marcy McKenna, Simply Solved Innovations.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That's fantastic Marcy!! Best wishes to you moving ahead with your product!

The Homemade Millionaire commercials started last night (Friday) on TLC!! Has anyone caught them? Also, on the TLC/Discovery website there are more inventors posted under Homemade Millionaire. It's fun to see the different ideas involved.

    Homemade Millionaire
    Beauty
    TV-PG

Tonya, Stefany and Marcy compete for a shot at becoming a Homemade Millionaire. Will it be Tonya's MagicKurl hair rollers, Stefany's hair bling accessories or Marcy's styling station?

  42. Marcy, how exciting to see you "reveal" yourself and your invention! I'm happy to hear you have been following everyone's progress here and now we can be following yours! I'm checking out your FB now...welcome!
And a quick shout out to my friend Jen C.! Miss you! :)

  44. Congratulations to all of the ladies that made it!! I was so excited to see Stefany was included on the show. She was ahead of me in NYC-Whoo-Hoo Stefany!! :)

Can't wait to watch and cheer you all on.

Homemade Millionaire has connected me with the most amazing women inventors, and taken Carry-Her off the shelves in my office to little girls all over the country!! :)

  47. Hey Deedra,
I thought that I saw a comment that you found out on here when the show would air. You mean they didn't even let you know??????????????????
    Lori

    ReplyDelete
  48. I found a page on HSN, if you type Homemade Millionaire into the search box. Also, discovery.com OR tlc.com will show you info the same way.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ummmm, I just checked on the HSN schedule....and it looks like Marcy is booked for Nov 19th after Homemade Millionaire...

    http://www.hsn.com/program-guide_xh.aspx?typ=&pg=&disp=&print=&nvsrc=dt&date=11/19/2010

Maybe they shouldn't list the names of the people selling...kills the show.

Congrats Marcy!!!! We can't wait to watch your journey!!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yes, congrats Marcy :)

Well, I just saw the new info on the second show: Kitty, Debra, Eileen and Kim compete for a shot at becoming a Homemade Millionaire. Will it be Kitty's portion control diet plate ware, Debra's Cake Huggers or Eileen and Kim's beverage system for kids?

This is exciting...don't forget to watch me on Dec 17th. :)

    Deedra :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Tracy! You should be flattered, cause obviously SOMEONE is reading your blog...they already took Marcy's name off the HSN schedule!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I was just admiring TLC & HSN's Homemade Millionaire sites. Marcy is most certainly on both sites and she has obviously earned that position. Go Marcy, we're rooting for you!

    ReplyDelete
  53. beware of the edison nation contract-- they basically take your product and give you 5% of the sales.....everyone needs to read the fine print on these contracts. Seems like you are getting a good deal, but really in the end if your product is successful, it is no longer yours...they own it...

    ReplyDelete
  54. That is a shame but the way of the business. Thanks for the heads up. Everyone is out to get you!

  57. Let's hope it's a good show so we can have season 1, 2,3 & maybe 4! We women inventors need this show. Please, please spread the word and do you Christmas shopping.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Did anybody read this...
http://www.medialifemagazine.com/artman2/publish/TV_Reviews_21/-Homemade-Millionaire-kitchen-magicians-.asp It doesn't sound so good for the show! Any comments?

    ReplyDelete
  60. No, had not see it. Sounds like this person has already seen the show to review it....anyone see any other reviews? Anyone hear Kelly talk about the show recently?

    Deedra :)
    www.klipzon.com

    ReplyDelete
  61. Tom Conroy's first problem is obvious - he's a man. He didn't even spell Stefany's name correctly.

Ignore the haters! I don't know that he's done his research on exactly how many Women Inventor/Entrepreneurs there are out there. It is also unfortunate that he isn't aware of the reasoning behind Kelly Ripa wanting to create/produce a show like this in the first place. Anyone who's followed her even a little closely knows that women around the country send her their products all the time looking for a way to take it to the next level. I don't believe this show is about drama or making people momentarily famous - yes, they probably will fade into obscurity, but the common goal here is to sell their products and get them on a shelf near you!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Jen,I agree with you but I was a little shocked when I read the review. I felt like he disliked Kelly herself and wanted to degrade her more than the show. What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wow, look at all the chatter! :) Can't wait to see the show tomorrow night - whoohooo!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I just read Tom's article...let's wait to see the ratings...I'm sure they will speak for themselves! Good luck everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I'm going to start adding some pics and videos to my Klipzon facebook page. If you wondered how my headbands work, I just put a video there to demonstrate. And yes, it's a simple home video...and yes, that is my husband's voice. :)
