A phone call

WI Food Drive: 14 Bags

I have a very important business phone call to make. I put if off yesterday so today is the day.

I'm nervous.

My words have to be perfect...every question has to be answered correctly...my enthusiasm and confidence has to be top notch...

A friend suggested that I have a tiny glass of wine before I make the call. :)

I can talk a good game! Easily I can get my friends pumped up about a product or idea but now...I have to turn on the charm to a "big wig"!

I just don't want to blow it...

But my sweet Husband said, "Tracy, just talk the way you do". Awww...he believes in me and has the confidence that I can do anything...

Now it's my turn to "believe"....where's my wine?!

  2. Tracy, I have a great idea for you. I have heard that HSN is looking for hosts and I think you would be wonderful at it. Why don't you try to contact someone to see if they still are. After all you are a Pitchwoman!
    Have a great day,
    Lori

  3. Thanks for the encouragement #3!

    Lori,
I would LOVE to work at HSN again (worked there 10 years ago behind the camera). I did get hired to be an On Air Guest a few months ago and I am just waiting to be placed with product. Just last week I received an email that there will be no new product for the remainder of the 4th quarter but next year...let's keep our fingers crossed!!! Thank you for your vote of confidence that I would be a good Host! :)

To everyone: I know it must be hard STILL waiting but hang in there! Hopefully good news will be coming soon! Or at least sooner than later! :)

  5. Wishing you success in your phone call, Tracy. I'm hoping that things work out exactly as you want. I wish that for us all. Bad week for me. The sale of our house fell though (buyers couldn't get their mortgage), the little farmhouse we had hoped to buy upstate now has an accepted offer and - on top of that - my car, which was obediently parked in its designated space at work - was run into by a US Postal truck. Did you ever get the feeling that the fates are against you? All I need now is to hear bad news about the show. I think I'll just pack it in. Too many disappointments to digest. Good night my friends. Tomorrow is another day. #16

  6. To #3...you are correct that we are now officially past the six week timeline that we had been advised of (and how painstakingly closely we have all watched that calendar, huh?). So, given that our friendly anonymous source told us - quite some time ago - that two shows had already been taped -- and assuming that is correct information -- then I am not feeling optimistic at this late date at all. The season is only eight shows. Surely most - if not all - the remaining shows have been taped by this point in time. I'm just guessing here and trying to be realistic because, again, I don't want any of us to be set up for major disappointment. #16

  7. Oh #16, I am so, so sorry...obviously this has been a very stressful time for you...I do wish you the best and if you get a chance, read the book of James. It is about trusting in God (even if it feels like fates are against you). It might give you comfort right now...

  9. to # 16 above - bad things come in the "3's" so you are done with your bad things--house not selling, losing farmhouse and car getting colided! You are due for some good happenings! Be ready! Have faith!

  10. #16 Oh how I know that feeling. We all do. But after a time to vent we pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off. Many years ago when house shopping a good friend at church said something I really needed to hear: We thought we had found THE house it fell through and everything fell apart she said: Wow if you loved that house and it didn't happen just think what God has picked for you. Romans 8:28A "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him." And she was right God's plan was better than mine. So #16 pull yourself up by those boot straps and brace yourself for what the Lord has in store for You. :-) The other side of that is that if we are strong in our faith Satan works twice as hard to bring doubt in and lessen our faith. Don't give him a foothold. Sending up prayers for your Faith, your strength, and your pending Blessings!!!

  12. I love you all, too. What a wonderful, kind-hearted collection of ladies we have here. And to think I found you by accident. Thanks to each of you for your encouragement and support. I can't tell you how much it means to me. Mary, you write eloquently and you've moved me to tears. Tracy, you are so right. I've very deliberately surrendered it all to the Lord because I am so, so tired these days. I am unable to even know what I should pray for anymore. So I'm leaving it all up to Him. Thanks ladies. You are each a treasure for which I am so grateful. #16
