The roller coaster and life

WI Food Drive - 13 Bags

Over the holiday we took the kids to Bush Gardens along with my sister and her family - so fun!

I LOVE roller coasters but have not been on one for 9 years (after having my daughter I developed a huge fear of getting seriously hurt on roller coasters) but I was getting the itch to feel that rush of adrenalin again and the Scorpion was just the ride I needed to scratch that itch.

My Husband, Brother-in-law and I waited in line for 45 minutes while my sister took all four kids to get ice cream. She's a saint.

We made small talk and inched our way up to the yellow line but once we got there...on the platform...ready to sit in the seat...we heard a loud CRACK and then rain...

I looked to my right and the employee working the Scorpion - the roller coaster that was to be my first in 9 years - got on the loud speaker and announced that due to weather, all the rides were being shut down.

I chuckled. Shook my head and stepped off the platform.

There was a time that I would have sulked for a while, complained over and over and let that ruin my day but one thing I have learned through ALL of this waiting and the highs and lows of being an inventor is that everything happens for a reason.

I know I have said it before but it's one thing to type the words, another thing to experience the lesson first hand.

I did not get to ride the roller coaster that day but I was able to enjoy the "ride" of learning life lessons and that had it's own rush!

  2. If you could take a moment and say a prayer for Amanda Knox - she could be released from prison today (after two years) - let's pray that this young woman, daughter and sister is returned to her family and vindicated for a crime that she did not commit.

  3. You know #3, I've noticed a bit of a pattern in "the powers that be" communicating their news to us via email late in the day on Fridays. Therefore, I'd hoped that maybe today we'd hear something but, alas, nothing on my end. And so...we wait some more. :-) #16

  4. Hi Ladies! Nothing here either. Have a great weekend! #8

  5. Very observant Anonymous - I noticed that good news (or any news for that matter) was delivered on Fridays...sorry it's taking so long for you ladies...

  6. Thank you #16,#8!!! Do you guys also notice that #9,#3,#16,#8 are the only ones still communicating. What does this mean??? Are we the only ones still left waiting??? Does everyone else all ready know what is going on??? We are the only ones that said that we got an executed contract too. This is a mystery maybe if we put our heads together we can break the case??? LOL Have a great weekend!!!! #3 :0)

  7. There are others...we just choose to be silent. You should hear something soon.

  8. Oh my - the above poster said "we" - this sounds just a tad spooky and foreboding. I'm hearing the Twilight Zone ditty in my head right now! (All kidding aside, Anonymous above, thanks for the heads up). So it is just us four blabbermouths (#3, #8, #9 & #16) who tend to speculate on this blog, but there are others who simply choose not to. (Funny, it took me a long time before I decided to finally chirp in!) Well then, let us just hang in there per our friend's advice above. Won't it be fun someday when we can all identify ourselves and our products? Regardless of the outcome, this is all very cool. Have a great weekend, ladies! #16

  9. Hey, I haven't been silent!!! :) In fact, I was the only one who identified my self and my product!!! :) BUT, I am a bit of a blubber mouth. :)

Wishing the best to you all!

  10. Of course! Right you are! Deedra is the most upfront of us all and has been all along. Yea, Deedra. Always so good to hear from you! #16

Deedra your so true!! You were the only one to come out! I'm still praying for you and believing great things with the adoption my friend!! :0) #3

  12. Hey anonymous that chooses to be silent,
Do you think the soon will be before the Holidays or after? How very interesting that you know that there are "others", so you know that for a fact or are you counting yourself as an other? This would lead me to believe that some most have been called back already, what do you guys think?
Deedra, we all surmized that you were called back to shoot an episode but I'm sad because you were on here asking if anyone knows people at GOODY, which would mean that it didn't work out for you? I hope that's NOT the case and I have just guessed wrong. Take care all, #9

  13. I think soon will be before the Holidays (within the next two weeks). By "others", I meant inventors outside of Deedra, # 3, 8, 9, and 16. However, when dealing with my AP, my AP always refers to "her ladies". Thus, I assume that this AP is responsible for a certain group of ladies pending casting. Because I know you ladies like clarity and answers...when I say "my AP", I only say that because this is the only AP within Milojo/Discovery I have dealt with for my phone interview, negotiating contract, updates, etc... Not so silent anymore (I guess).

  14. Thanks for the clarification, Anonymous above. I think I speak for all of us who are
(im)patiently (!!) waiting when I say that I appreciate any informative tidbits you may want to share. On another note, Tracy, I want to tell you how much I enjoyed this most recent blog entry. It is SO relevant to what we are all experiencing and the analogy was spot on! Thanks! #16

  15. Not so silent anymore :o),
How many ladies would you venture to guess there are all together? Also, I have only dealt with a male and do you think that is a whole new set of ladies? Also do you think that filming has begun with ladies?
    Thanks, #9

  16. I wish I knew how many exactly check in here - just for curiosity sake! :)

Ladies, when the time FINALLY does come and the show is on air, I will be able to say, "I knew you when"...xoxo

I am so anxious to see what products they selected!

  17. I do not know the amount of ladies, but I think different APs are dealing with different people. I am not sure if that means different APs are responsible for casting certain # of shows. I do know that they have shot at least two of eight shows. I am not sure what number they are currently up to. When Kelly referred to the to show on Regis & Kelly, she actually was referring to those first two tapings. I would also venture to say that Deedra participated in one of those shows Kelly referenced. I think they are finalizing casting as they shoot each show.
    Not so silent anymore.

  18. All good information and makes total sense, too. Thank you Anonymous above. It has seemed illogical to me that they would not have begun shooting already. To be sure, there is nothing that says they had to make their selections all at once but, still, can't help but feel a bit like we've been left hanging in the wind with egg on our faces. And the few sporadic (deliberately?) cryptic timelines and "hurry up and wait" messages are feeling a little bit unkind right about now. But I guess they know what they are doing and we'll all know soon enough, too. Patience is a virtue, after all. #16

  19. #16,
Just wondered why you think that they made all of the selections at once??? If so, seems like the would let us know that we didn't make it. I don't think that's the case at all. I think they are going episode by episode with the ladies for a certain reason and obviously we don't know the premise behind there logic. Once again I believe whole heartedly that we WILL know soon when it's our turn.

  20. Good morning Ladies, Calls are coming! Keep your faith!

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is crazy, after all of this waiting I hope they don't call until after the Holidays because i'm so busy with my other business! Never thought I would say that! HAHA

  22. Thank you so much to all the ladies that have more info for us!!!!

When you say calls are coming do you mean call backs???? Or that your in or out? Thank you for any info you have it is so helpful to us!! #3

    ReplyDelete
  23. That is my question exactly #3. Are we still waiting for those referenced callbacks and/or our second pitch...or are we simply waiting to be eliminated or chosen?? Perhaps you are right #9. Maybe they are just taking it one show at a time. (I wonder if they even have a clue as to how much angst we are suffering!) It's just so hard NOT to speculate! LOL! #16

  24. I found the cure for the endless waiting. Put some eggs in other baskets and you won't feel so peeved about the wait. That's what I have been doing. I started a whole new career of sculpting dolls and it has been wonderful and has helped me make it through the long wait and I won't be as devastated if things don't go my way. It just feels great to have something else, if you know what I mean. I have put my eggs in one basket too many times and I really feel strongly to encourage others to find something else that you never thought you could do, or that you know your good at.

  25. Thank you...you wonderful anonymous "source" above! You are truly nice to share with us...and I think I speak for all of us who remain in waiting when I say that we very much appreciate your reassurances. #16

  26. Yes I third that!!! #3

  27. Just thinking....they may be taping all the ones that do not go on saving us for later taping. Because, remember the one chosen in each episode, will then become the reality show, as they are followed as they get their product ready for HSN. Any thoughts.....

  28. Sounds right to me but then again, I am the official WI cheerleader! HAHA

  29. It's anyone's guess, Anonymous. They can develop and tape this show anyway they wish. I think I'm done second guessing the process. It doesn't serve me well. It is out of our hands entirely. I'm now fully committed to sitting tight and concentrating instead on Christmas and, soon after that, my daughter's wedding in Mexico :-). Also, our house hunt looms large - front and center - in my priorities. There is enough on my plate right now to last me a year. I'm vowing to take things as they come. Have a great evening all! #16

  30. Amen #16, Christmas is my most favorite time of the year. And someday i want to meet all of you no matter what happens! #8

  31. I admire you Ladies. I don't know how gracefully I would be handling this wait if i were still in the running. I too like Tracey and #8. Look forward to meeting someday or atleast I would be able to say wow I knew her when!

  32. Hi, Mary! I don't know how gracefully we're handling it...it's just that there is absolutely nothing we can do about it :-). I really, really, really (!!)think it would be great fun to meet everyone someday when everything and everyone is openly disclosed. We've formed quite a nice little "club" of great ladies here...thanks entirely to Tracy! #16
