Omni Comm Shoot

Here is a pic from my shoot yesterday at Omni Comm.

I taped two spots - one for a Home Warranty (now I want one!) and the Power Plank - a VERY cool piece of workout equipment. The crew was so friendly and fun to work with and of course, Brian rocks - he's great at making at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera!

While I was in the studio, I was able to pop in and say "Hi" to Kevin H. (from Shark Tank). I had pitched him The Everything Marinator while I was in Vegas.

Needless to say, it was an exciting day!

On a WI note, I see in the past comments that one women has received a phone call and is reporting that in two weeks there will be more news for the ladies that signed the contracts.
I can't wait to hear! But "wait" we will... :)

  1. Tracy,

You look great! Silly me I just assumed your shoot had to do with the spin-gym. So one would think by age 44 I would've learned my lesson about assuming. LOL Anyway that's wonderful. So you have more stories up your sleave. You pitched to Kevin of Shark Tank. You go girl! Make those connections! How exciting!

  2. Hey Mary, you did not assume wrong...I thought I would be doing the spin-gym but that got rescheduled. Thanks for checking in!

  7. Hey, pretty lady...I'm not surprised to learn you're doing commercials! That's great! And hob-nobing with the decision makers is definitely a good thing!!

So, in addition to yesterday's poster, I too received a late afternoon phone call/interview at work from a woman at milojo. She had me on the phone for about 30 minutes asking a series of questions (good thing I have a boss who is completely supportive of this little adventure!) She apologized for the "hurry up and wait" nature of the casting...but said they are behind schedule. I did not press her for dates. Many of the questions she asked were kind of redundant given that I had answered most of them in my application, but I got the sense (and maybe I'm wrong) that she wanted to actually "hear" me speak and was listening closely to how I spoke even more than what I said. Again, I may be wrong but that was my sense. Anyway, she was very nice and provided me her email address and phone should I have any questions. That's about it. Now...more wait time!

  10. Hey Ladies who got the Milojo calls! Congrats!!! Whoo hooooo!

Were you both in the first group of contracts? I think that was in July. My contract didn't come until August. I think I might be a contestant that will get called if all the others don't work out. Kindof like the pepclub president who is available if the cheerleader already has plans. :)

But HEY, I'm a GREAT pepclub president. The best EVER! :) Hee Hee.

    Have a great night everyone!

  11. Where are you in the process of your product? I'm just in prototype stage with the design still needing to be perfected. If you can tell us where you are in the development stage and what questions they asked about it....like "what do you need" or "what do you have planned for the next step"....

  13. What a great way to wake up! Thank you so much for all of the compliments! I'm happy to hear that there is movement again with WI and I hope for all that are waiting, it's sooner than later!

  14. Hello, ladies...To answer your questions,I received my contract in early July. My product is in the prototype stage because I've been unable financially to move it to the next level (which I explained to the interviewer). Mine is a relatively uncomplex idea, however, and it could be manuafactured at a good price point we both agreed. The questions were basically what you've suggested...if you know your product (and we ALL do), the questions are very easy. Good luck. I'll report back here tonight to see who else got calls (my company blocks blog sites!) And, Deedra, I've NO DOUBT that you'd make a great contestent (forget about pepclub president!!)

  15. Hello Fellow Inventors! I received my contract July 9 and follow up answers on July 15. My product has been through much research and development and is now ready to be launched. The next step is packaging and promoting. I agree with the other anonymous in stating that the interviewer was very kind and fun to speak with. We were on the phone for over 30 minutes as well! The questions posed were follow ups to the application that we filled out, along with other important questions. This website, inspires all of us in knowing there are many others with common goals, dreams, and guts! I intend on following through like all of you, because we ALL need to believe.

  16. Such exciting happenings! I second what Jen said I can't wait to see the faces behind the posts. And the products too. I must admit in all honesty though there is a small part of me that is jealous, wish it was happening to me. However, I am a firm believer in God having control of my life and I do believe in my product and for what ever reason I or my product was not a good fit for WI. I am anxiously awaiting the Everyday Edison casting calls in early 2010 and I currently have three Live product searches going with Edison Nation 2 that are in the 4th stage of the decision process. So I'll be just fine.
I truly am happy for all of you and can't wait to see you on TLC. I am curious to know from those of you who were chosen did any of you just submit your products and not go to the casting call or did all of you attend an open call? Thanks and best wishes for success.

  17. Mary S., I too have other ideas... must be creative minds always thinking! I found out about the casting call the night before, burned the midnight oil, and gave it a shot. Since I had so little time to think, in retrospect, it was probably a better plan! The next step of this process is a big one and I'm ready for it. Mary, only the best wishes go out to you for your Everyday Edisons adventure. Do not stop believing!

  18. I think we all need to remember that the casting criteria for this show encompasses so much more than just our product. I mean intangible stuff. Who really knows what specifically they are looking for and how they are deciding who will or will not make the final cut. I think it is important because I would hate for anyone who is not selected to interpret it as anything more meaningful than a few random decision makers' ideas about what constitutes "good TV" and/or have their exclusion from the program in any way undermine their passion for - or belief in - their invention. That's why it cheers me to see the continued enthusiasm of folks like Mary S. and other posters. Good luck to us ALL ladies - we all deserve it!

  22. Thanks Tracy..love your blog... what an inspiration you are. So many ups and down's with bringing a product to market. We had contact from Oprah's staff and a major retailer has inquired but we have not jumped yet on that. Still in our infancy and preparing now to grow BIG TIME in 2010!Then who knows maybe we will be ready for Oprah and the major retailer!
